Couples therapy in Hurricane, Utah: There's a way out of the loop.

Slowing the loop down

In session, we notice the loop as it happens: the part of you that gets loud, the part of your partner that goes quiet, and the older hurts both are guarding. Once those parts can be heard, they don't need to fight so hard.

I draw on IFS-informed parts work and Gottman-informed tools for communication, conflict, and repair, so you leave with both deeper understanding and practical things to try at home.

Intimacy, desire, and every kind of relationship. Sex and desire belong in the room, not as an afterthought. This is a sex-positive, kink-aware, LGBTQ+ affirming space, and I work with monogamous, polyamorous, and ENM relationships alike.

The first few weeks

  1. Before we meet

A free 15-minute call with one or both of you to talk about what's going on and whether we're a good fit.

  2. The first session

We map the loop: where it starts, how it escalates, and what each of you needs that isn't getting through.

  3. Over the next weeks

We practice slowing down, hearing the parts underneath, and repairing in real time, in person in Hurricane or by telehealth.

  4. Between sessions

You leave with small, practical things to try at home, so change doesn't only happen in the therapy room.

That's common, and it doesn't have to stop you. Many couples start with just the free consult, so the more hesitant partner can ask questions and get a feel for it with no commitment.

Not necessarily. Couples therapy can help you get clear, whether that means rebuilding or parting with more understanding and less damage. You don't have to decide before the first session.

Yes. This is an affirming, sex-positive space for every relationship structure, including polyamorous and ENM relationships and kink-involved partners.

Sometimes. Many plans cover couples sessions only as part of treating a diagnosed condition. I'm in-network with SelectHealth and provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, and we can talk through your plan during the consult.
